Global Store Design & Visual Merchandising Director

Description: 

Lead La Prairie’s global Store Design and Visual Merchandising strategy, ensuring a distinctive and consistent luxury retail experience across all physical channels. Translate brand vision and commercial priorities into scalable design standards, merchandising frameworks and operational guidelines that drive execution excellence, elevate client experience and support business performance. Partner across global and regional teams to balance creative innovation with governance, investment discipline and effective delivery.

 

How you will create a beautiful impact:

 

 

1. Define and Protect the La Prairie Retail Experience

  • Shape and evolve La Prairie’s global retail identity, store design and visual merchandising vision across all physical retail formats.
  • Lead the creative and experiential direction of retail environments while ensuring brand consistency and local relevance.
  • Establish clear global design principles and brand guardrails to protect and elevate the luxury retail experience.

 

2. Convert Space into Commercial Performance

  • Maximise retail productivity by linking store design, space planning and visual merchandising decisions to commercial outcomes.
  • Define merchandising frameworks, planogram strategies and space allocation principles across key retail formats.
  • Use performance insights to continuously optimise retail environments and client engagement.

 

3. Scale Execution Through Standards, Toolkits and Governance

  • Develop and maintain global store design and visual merchandising standards, guidelines and implementation toolkits.
  • Ensure consistent execution of the brand vision through clear frameworks, processes and communication.
  • Establish governance and decision-making structures that drive quality, accountability and operational excellence.

 

4. Deliver Programmes with CAPEX, Quality and Risk Control

  • Lead the development and delivery of retail design projects across channels and markets.
  • Oversee vendor, sourcing, production and logistics management to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Manage budgets and CAPEX investments to maximise strategic value and commercial return.

 

5. Lead Global-Local Alignment and Decision-Making

  • Partner with global, regional and market stakeholders to drive alignment on retail design and visual merchandising priorities.
  • Balance global consistency with local business requirements and market opportunities.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and facilitate effective decision-making across cross-functional teams.

 

6. Build Team Capability and Organisational Maturity

  • Lead, coach and develop the global Store Design and Visual Merchandising team.
  • Strengthen capabilities across regional teams through standards, training and best-practice sharing.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and commercial mindset.

 

What you need to become our next audacious talent:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Business/Marketing related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in architecture, industrial design, and retail merchandising within a luxury brand environment, preferably in a global organization, with the ability to create and interpret architectural drawings.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading a team
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and collaboration skill required
