The HR Director serves as the principal HR Business Partner to the China leadership team, driving business performance through elevated leadership capability, organizational effectiveness, and strategic people initiatives across both La Prairie and Chantecaille. The role builds trusted relationships with leaders and teams to shape future business needs, strengthen cultural alignment, and enhance organizational engagement. The role partners closely with key stakeholders to anticipate future business needs, inform strategic decisions, and shape HR initiatives tailored to each brand while maximizing cross‑brand efficiencies. The HR Director proactively identifies talent opportunities and risks, championing development actions that build a strong, engaged, and future‑ready workforce for sustained success in the China market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR Business Partnering & Leadership Advisory
- Act as the primary HR Business Partner to the China leadership team, driving people strategies aligned with brand and market priorities.
- Provide strategic coaching to leaders, strengthening leadership capability and cultural stewardship.
- Provide data-driven insights on talent health, engagement, and readiness to support future business growth.
- Drive execution of group and regional HR priorities within the China market.
Organizational Design
- Oversee the design and continuous optimization of organizational structures for integrated Luxury organization (LA PRAIRIE + CHANTECAILLE), enhancing operational efficiency and supporting businesses expansion plans.
- Lead the development of flexible, scalable organizational frameworks that accommodate the unique growth of LA PRAIRIE and CHANTECAILLE.
- Identify opportunities for cross-brand synergies in structure and resources without compromising brand identity or operational autonomy.
- Support change management initiatives to ensure organizational readiness and agility.
Talent Management & Development
- Identify critical talent opportunities and risks across both brands, using workforce insights to guide strategic decision-making.
- Lead market succession planning by identifying critical roles, assessing bench strength, and driving targeted development actions.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, high performance, development and potential.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that create environments of fairness and respect, tailored to each brand's culture.
- Develop distinct employer branding strategies that attract talent aligned with each brand's unique luxury positioning.
HR Operations, Governance & Workforce Planning
- Ensure efficient HR operations in China in collaboration with People Service & Reward Manager for payroll quality, benefits, and HR governance.
- Oversee complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with China labor laws.
- Strengthen HR processes and governance to ensure a consistent employee experience.
- Lead the workforce planning of the market and support the annual personnel cost budgeting and quarterly rolling forecasts for both brands, providing strategic insights on investment in talent.
- Partner with finance and commercial teams on commission scheme reviews, cost simulations, and workforce modeling to support business decisions.
Stakeholder Management & Strategic Partnership
- Build strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including brand leadership teams, regional leaders, and external partners.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the VP China and Executive team on all HR matters, organizational change, and leadership development.
- Provide timely, professional solutions to stakeholder needs, including complex employee relations case handling, organizational restructuring, and talent interventions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 10 years experiences in HR leadership roles and at least 5 years as HRBP or HR Director in China.
- Experience in Cosmetics & Skincare, Luxury, FMCG, and Retail industry preferred.
- Strong experience with organizational design, HR transformation, and strategic workforce planning.
- Strong understanding of China labor laws and HR compliance.
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a broad range of stakeholders across different cultures.
- Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity, and to think strategically while executing effectively.
- Fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
